My approach

Emotional health is essential to our whole health.

How we feel affects how we live: in our bodies, our relationships, and the choices we make. My work helps people reconnect with their emotional lives, heal, and develop ways to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Mind. Body. Spirit. One whole person.

Where I begin

What you’re experiencing makes sense.

Even if you don’t understand it yet. The anxiety. The mind that won’t quiet. The tension in your body. The pattern you’re so done with but can’t seem to break.

I’m interested in what these experiences can tell us. How did this response develop? What has it helped you manage? What does it cost you now? Taking a real interest in ourselves gives us somewhere to begin.

Looking beneath the surface

What’s getting in the way can also point the way.

What I see again and again is how hard people work to feel better—trying to change what’s happening without getting to the root of what’s keeping it going.

We learn ways to manage what once felt impossible to face or feel. Over time, those responses can become so familiar that we no longer recognize what they’re helping us avoid. Unresolved stress, trauma, and unexpressed emotions may still be affecting us, even outside our conscious awareness.

That history can extend beyond our own lifetime. Unresolved stress and trauma can be passed down through generations, affecting us in ways we may not recognize. My work includes individual and intergenerational healing: working with both our own experiences and inherited patterns of stress and trauma, helping interrupt those cycles and create greater freedom in how we live.

Healing and growth

Care for what hurts.
Develop what helps you live well.

Recognizing a feeling is different from being able to experience it, express it, and respond to the need behind it. We may never have been taught—or allowed—to do those things. These are capacities we can develop.

My work makes room for both: healing unresolved experiences and strengthening the qualities and skills that support emotional health.

Curiosity

Take a real interest in what you’re experiencing, including what isn’t obvious yet.

Compassion

Make room for what you find—even the parts you’d rather not have to deal with.

Courage

Work with what needs healing and practice ways of responding that are new to you.

Beyond the therapy room

Psychology for
living.

Emotional health matters in everyday life—in how we relate, care for ourselves, and meet what life asks of us.

Flourish, my newsletter, offers ideas to notice, question, and try in your own life. Workshops and programs create space to explore and practice together. Speaking and team training bring emotional health into the conversations happening in our workplaces and communities.

Each offers a way to connect with this work: understand yourself more deeply, strengthen what supports you, and discover new possibilities for how you live.

How this takes shape in therapy

Understanding.
Experience.
Integration.

I bring together trauma treatment, approaches that work with mind and body, and depth psychology. We choose how to work based on your needs and goals.

I take being human seriously. I also think we need to be able to laugh about it.

Advanced Integrative Therapy

AIT is central to my trauma work. It combines psychological exploration with work involving the body’s energy centers, attending to unresolved experiences as well as the inner resources we want to strengthen.

Mind–body practices

HeartMath biofeedback and integrative practices bring attention to bodily experience and ways to work with stress and emotional regulation.

Depth and relationship work

Jungian psychology, attachment, and parts work inform how I understand patterns, relationships, and the experiences that shape our sense of self.

Training that informs my work

My background includes certification and experience in EMDR, part of the breadth of trauma training that informs my work. I no longer offer EMDR treatment and refer to other providers for it.

My specialties
